introduction

The folkdancegroup Pajottenland was founded in 1959 with the goal to preserve and practice the traditional Flemish dances and music. Our dance group consists of more than 130 enthusiastic members, dancers and musicians, from 6 till 99 years old.

Pajottenland is the slightly hillside rural region in the west of Brussels. Here the group tends to preserve the traditions and Flemish folkloristic dances on a contemporary way.

Our program contains traditional folkloristic dances as well as newly created dances based on folkloristic dance figures and steps. We'd like to revive our culture and the rich Flemish tradition in our own way. Pajottenland offers a great variety of dances and brings regularly presentations on local and international level. The dancers are always accompanied by our own musicians.

Through the years Pajottenland has strived for quality. The programs are combining dances, music and choreography. On scene the presentations are complete : apropriate costumes, original attributes and, not to forget, a bit of humour.

Every presentations is always perfectly worked out with a high focus on details and variation. This allows Folkdance Group Pajottenland to perform before diversified audiences. Our folkdance group is a well appreciated performer on international festivals.
